#1 We follow the first rule of medicine.....Do No Harm! Listen to your body! More pain does not equal more gain. Physical Therapy should not be painful. Unfortunately, many people have had a bad experience with physical therapy. Many also equate physical therapy with extremely strenuous, and once again painful exercise. This is simply not necessary and not true!! There is much more to physical therapy, regardless of how old you are, how much you hurt or how ill you are!
#2 We have many traditional manual or bio mechanical pain relieving techniques to try including massage, soft tissue and joint mobilization, manual and mechanical traction, trigger point therapy or releases and Kinesiotaping.
#3 We can also utilize Complementary or alternative medicine pain relieving techniques include pressure point techniques, The Graston Technique, Cupping, Auriculotherapy, Electrotherapeutic Point Stimulation (ETPS), more recently referred to as Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) and Trigger Point Dry Needling or Integrative Dry Needling. Purchase your own auriculotherapy earseeds here.
#4 We strive to find a pain free or pain relieving gentle exercise or exercises that a person can do. Exercise is a lot like medicine, the right kind and amount can be beneficial, the wrong kind or wrong amount can harm you. Finding the proper pain free or pain relieving exercise is important in order to obtain the full beneficial effects associated with aerobic and anaerobic or strengthening exercise.
#5 Repeat the properly designed pain free or pain relieving exercise, program or protocol in order to obtain a cumulative effect of exercise. This normally involves 3-5 days per week for at least 4-6 weeks
#6 Find a way to incorporate regular enjoyable exercise into your lifestyle 3-5 days/ week!
Lordex machine is great for lower back pain. Dry needling works great for my neck pain an headaches. Graston technique works for aching muscles! I would recommend any of these techniques two other patients with lower back pain headaches and sore muscles!!!
