I began my career as a physical therapist over 30 years ago, after graduating from the Ohio State University in 1987. I began working primarily in nursing homes. A hospital in Columbus offered me an opportunity, as a manager of extended
care rehab services, which I eagerly accepted. I had grown up blessed with the presence of three grandparents. I enjoy being around older people and was thrilled to have a job where I could help them recover from a general surgical or medical condition or other acute misfortune such as a stroke or hip fracture. I quickly noticed that many times people would recover from their temporary setback, although it would generally take 2 to 3 months. Once they were rehabilitated though, they would return home. I found myself wishing that I could have seen these people prior to their need for a short term stay in the nursing home. I began to think that if I had seen them I could have had the opportunity to help them avoid the need for institutionalization.
I now have that opportunity! I opened the first office of Eschman Physical Therapy, LLC
in 2005 at the corner of North Road and North River Road in Warren, Ohio. We are most proud at Eschman Physical Therapy, LLC of our philosophy and one to one professional model of care.
